French sailor Vincent Riou, skipper of PRB, is one of an elite circle that can say they have won the Vendee Globe, the pinnacle of offshore racing. Riou sailed across the finish line in first place after 87 consecutive days at sea in the 2004-2005 Vendee Globe. Before winnning the Vendee Globe however, he was the technical coordinator of PRB that Michel Desjoyeaux sailed to victory in the 2000 Vendée Globe, and then in 2002 he was the router for Desjoyeaux’s victory in the 2002 Route du Rhum. An essential skill base which later proved to be solid groundings helping to ensure he sailed to victory and the the top of the prestigious Vendee Globe podium.
